I would like to cordially invite each of you to join us in Phoenix, AZ this October 21-24 for the annual PCI Convention and Exhibition. Our friends from the FHWA will also join us in sponsoring the PCI National Bridge Conference, which once again will take place concurrently with PCI’s Convention.
Like you, I see our markets continuing their upward momentum. Our customers are informed and continue to seek out progressive thinking and solutions that resolve today’s design and construction challenges. It is within this environment that precast/prestressed concrete producers and PCI stand ready for the challenge.
Moving forward, we continue our efforts to enhance specifier preference, deliver innovative materials and processes to the marketplace, and to produce the best precast solutions. As such, I’m pleased to announce this year’s convention theme:
“the future is now, ideas to build on”
This statement is more than words; rather, it is the embodiment of the value that we can create each day for architects, engineers and owners alike. This theme will guide more than our Convention—it can serve as an inspiration for the entrepreneurial spirit that will continue to make us successful in the years ahead!
To leverage our theme, we’re proud to present our keynote speaker --- Edward Mazria, an internationally recognized architect, speaking on, “Precast’s Role in Sustainable Design.” His architecture and planning projects span over 30 years and each employs a cutting-edge environmental approach to its design. Maria will discuss the precast concrete industry’s contribution to reducing energy use in buildings.
Attendees will also have access to a great variety of sessions and activities. The PCI Convention will offer a wide range of informational sessions covering a number of topics, including seismic, industry hot topics, research & design, sustainability, marketing, architectural, operations and productivity. A number of education sessions at the PCI Convention have also been approved for continuing education credit providing valuable opportunities for attendees to maximize their professional skills.
There is also plenty to do outside of the sessions. Industry suppliers will be present to showcase their latest products, materials and services in the exhibit hall. The exhibition presents an excellent networking opportunity for you to speak with a variety of the industry’s major suppliers about the latest innovations, applications and techniques that can help your business.
In addition to the business on hand, PCI has put together another activity-packed Spouse/Guest Program. There will be a number of tours of local desert attractions, as well as Frank Lloyd Wright architectural tours, shopping, cooking, and much more.
Make your plans now to join us in Phoenix. The area has quite a lot to offer everyone. I look forward to seeing you at this year’s PCI Convention and National Bridge Conference!
