Welcome to the 2008 PCI National Bridge Conference CLICK HERE to view the tentative schedule and presenters. Dear fellow transportation industry stakeholder… The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute and the Federal Highway Administration cordially invite you to attend this year’s National Bridge Conference (NBC) in Orlando, October 5-7. The NBC provides a unique opportunity to network and be immersed in the state-of-the-art of concrete bridges…particularly precast, prestressed concrete bridges. As usual, PCI is proud to have the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) co-sponsor the event. PCI and FHWA have been hosting this conference since 2004. The conference features some 90 papers on concrete bridge design and construction. The papers are captured on a CD-ROM that will be provided to attendees on-site. The NBC attracts some 250 attendees annually. Among these historically have been 25 state departments of transportation (DOT) represented by 75 engineers. The National Bridge Conference is conducted alongside the PCI Annual Convention. There is a full-blown exhibit hall featuring 100 exhibitors in an inviting, open and gracious atmosphere. There is an open, hosted bar at all times. The exhibit hall serves as a comfortable meeting, and “get-together” place for delegates. A special section of the exhibit floor is set aside for bridge-related exhibitors. Called the "Bridge Pavilion," it will include both the FHWA and this year’s featured “spotlight” state, the Washington State Department of Transportation. Make your reservation early to take advantage of the lowest rate and be assured of space in the headquarters hotel. Note that numerous meals and all coffee breaks are included in the registration fee. If there are questions at any time, please contact Danielle Lang at dlang@pci.org or me at jdick@pci.org. Sincerely, John S. Dick PCI Director, Transportation Systems
